Herd4Christ is a Christian non-profit group based in Huntington, West Virginia near Marshall University. The group invites university age young men and women to enjoy the company of fellow Christians in a safe environment while worshiping God. Herd4Christ offers many volunteer opportunities to give free time to those in need and have fun in the process.

From the day a new student joins the Herd, they are welcomed with open arms and hearts from the whole congregation of the 26th Street Church of Christ. Each student is "adopted" into their own family to guide and care for them throughout the school year. The parents are invited to see what their newly freed child has gotten themselves into. They are welcomed as honored guests with great respect and given the opportunity to become part of the family as well. The parents are happy to know their child is in a loving, drug and alcohol free environment helping out in the community, worshiping God, safely blowing off steam, and learning how to grow into loving, honorable young adults.

Herd4Christ events include:

Adopt-a-Student Devo - Each student is adopted into a surrogate family for their first year away from home.

Scavenger Hunt Devo - Students are grouped with veteran H4C members to travel around campus and downtown getting to know the city and each other.

Clothing Giveaway and Fashion Show Devo - The students sort through donated clothing, shoes, blankets, and coats and organize a giveaway for those in need while having lots of fun worshiping God.

Bible and Bowling Devo - H4C goes bowling after learning about God.

Game Nigth Devo - Board games while enjoying the blessings of friends and good times from God.

Dinner and a Movie Devo - Students gather for a nice meal and a good movie while remembering God and his blessings.

Iron Chef Devo - The students compete against each other for the title of Iron Chef while worshiping God and enjoying their creative talents.

And much more. The year is full of charitable volunteer work and trips to other congregations helping to spread God's love as far as they can reach. At least once a month the students may volunteer for acts of service in the community. But for the most part, Herd4Christ helps good kids stay out of trouble as they learn who they are and what their purpose in life will be.

"College is a time when you either grow closer to God or farther away from Him. Which do you want?"
